Lexus GS 4th Gen Headlights Comparison
Hi!
Currently i have 2015 GS350 F Sport (Non-Afs), i was intrested to know if i can upgrade my headlights to triple beams.
There are two types:
and this after market Chinese:
And another one:
Which requires bumper upgrade to 2016 model.
My questions is do you have any clear picture of output shots on the wall as an example from these? compared to the OEM bixenon.

I wonder what do you want to achieve. If you want your headlights to look cool during daytime, then the aftermarket LED housing is your choice. However, the performance would be lower than OEM HID (from what I see from members in the forum who installed this headlights). The OEM tribeam from GS450h seems cant be fit into GS350 and expensive
If your priority is to improve output performance, then there are several ways. Upgrading your D4S, installing fog lights with projector lens or the most expensive option is to retrofit your headlight projectors. I did the first 2 and pretty happy with how the my lights perform

@mostafa1989 the OEM triple beam upgrade has been done but requires you to switch out the headlights along with an ECU. See this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...turn-30-a.html
The second aftermarket one you have pictured was done by a few folks. Here are a few:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post11395198
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post11647305
There is also another aftermarket set that is slightly different. Here is one member who did those:

For best results, go OEM if you can afford it. The quality, fitment, longevity etc. will be worth it. You can always resell your current headlamps to recover some of the costs once you install the new ones. Also, I highly recommend getting any new headlights done in PPF to keep them from the infamous headlight hazing. I had to replace my headlights and I did so with OEM housings...got them done in XPEL and they still look brand new with no signs of wear over the last 5months.

And performance is not related to the Bulb alone. Even the projector on the GS is one of the best among the OEM HID projectors in the market. so probably the only option to retrofit and upgrade the projector lens is to install STI-R clear lens instead of the current frosted lens.
About the bulb, currently i have Osram CBN D4S which is one of the best and brightest in the market.
Another questions is Why GS450h tripple beam does not fit into the normal one? i saw some people did the upgrade!
The thing i am looking for is the performance and beam pattern.
i need to see how the cuttoff line looks like, where and how is the hotspot, how wide is the output and ...

Just like what other members discussed on the links AJlex19 gave you, the GS450h healights require to swap ECU and in case your car is non AFS, you will get warning error on the dash
Absolutely clear lens is better than our frosted lens but it requires profesional install and is expensive. But even with retrofit, it still uses HID bulb which I think has reach its performance limit. I think you meant you are using Osram CBB as I dont know Osram have CBN bulb. I, too used CBB for both my 3GS and 4GS. it is great and probably the best bulb. But when the LED came out, I decide to give it a try and it is a tad brighter than CBB, just a tad. In return, the LED gave me 2 shadows in front of the car just like any other LED bulb. Fortunately, my LED fog can cover it
In the alley shot, LED low beam only. Captured from driver seat
In the alley shot, LED low beam and white LED fog
LED low beam and yellow LED fog
against the wall, LED low beam only
LED low beam and white LED fog
LED low beam and yellow LED fog

1- Thanks for nice detailed pictures. actually i was also planning to switch into LED because even the highest rated HID bulb is not as good as LED bulbs!
2- Yes i mean Osram CBN! CBN is actually the new name for the new Generation of CBI, CBB has higher kelvin rating and not bright as CBN (CBI).
You can see my review about CBN on GS350 here:
3- As you know Gs450h is LED and it has double led projectors for low beam. so are you telling me that if i switch to that and also swap the ECU, still i will get wrror because my car is Non-AFS?

Meanwhile, achip5188 says that LED bulbs are only fractionally brighter, yet have two little narrow shadows in front of the bumper?
Or, achip5188's LED's are dated now, and the latest LED bulbs are much brighter without the shadowing?

Wow, so this is your video. Actually, I watched your clip before I decided to buy a D4S LED. CBI Next gen does not really match my need.
I can't say about how GS450h performs, I hope someone with the triplebeam will chime in and post pics and reply to you how to install it. IIRC, for the triple beam, peasodos (a member here) has said only the outer projector is for low beam, the middle is high beam and the smaller inner is signal.
I bet you are now realizing HID cant be any brighter, no matter if it is CBI Next gen, CBB or Night breaker. The difference between them can only be shown on the Lux meter.
If you dont want to add fog light, the only route would be retrofit to bi-LED projector. I have bi-LED projector fog with laser so I can say bi-LED is overpower my low beam. I know you want to go LED headlight from GS450h but that LED is the technology from around more than 10 years ago

So right now, for a 2010 GS350 and 2015 GS350 - both with OEM bi-xenons and AFS, the Osram Xenarc Night Breaker Laser below is the best bulb amongst the HID's and better than the Lexus OEM HID bulbs?

I used this from Amazon Japan. It is quite new. Other LED on Amazon US would be too big and I can't close the hubcap/ballast.
LED technology is evolving month by month but I dont think it will solve the shadow issue. It will get brighter, cheaper but as long as the aftermarket bulb have the same shape like this, the shadow will be there. it could be less noticeable but still be there. Same as HID bulb have to have a return wire.

For superior brightness, and simplicity of installation, would an Osram Xenarc Night Breaker Laser HID above be better, or would an LED bulb be an easier drop-in with superior performance?

Yes Pete, this LED bulb is as small as regular HID D4S and can simply drop into the socket and close the ballast hub cap. i dont think AFS or non AFS would matter. Other LED D4S types you see on Amazon have the extension wire will not let you close the ballast cap and I would avoid it
To each his own, people can choose Osram NB HID if they like the warm color and the amount of light illuminated the road. I am just not a fan of yellowish light and believe HID has reached its peak so I switch to LED and I can tell it is a bit brighter than Osram CBB
aside from the shadow, LED is noisier due to the fan and the high beam is unexplainable dimmer than HID.
