Sorry to hear about your experience with your new GS. That sounds like a lot to go wrong in a short amount of time/miles but hopefully it's smooth sailing from here!
Also sorry that you have to deal with other members getting upset at you instead of supporting you... I guess that's what happens when reliability is the only thing Lexus has left. How dare you question their reliability!!!
For me its good that it all failed in less then a month, I got it fixed for free Yes, I know reliability is a sensitive topic here.....still staying positive with GS
Speaking of reliability, no one also believes me that I spent total of $200 bucks (parts and labor) on S2000, a 10 year old car with 90k miles Thermostat is the only thing that broke on it. Even sold it with original battery that was still good!
The car is not CPO, I was saying the previous owner bought it CPO, shortly after that he realized it was too slow for him and traded it for a loss (maybe put 5k miles on it). Lexus CPO doesn't transfer to new owners like all Germans.
Everything was fixed under lemon law so I haven't paid the bill yet. I almost never purchase 3rd party warranty, but surprisingly I did for GS. I know these warranties are not as good, but hopefully it will cover things.
I've had BMW with AVS-like electronic suspension, never had issues myself and ive never heard of them having issues even at 100k. I always tried to stay away from air suspension.
I also just sold my Cayenne with 125k miles.....the car was nearly bullet proof aside from Diesel emissions that was all covered under warranty. Same thing....no noises, no rust on exhaust, original water pump, no electronics issues, no blown shocks....in fact not a single suspension part was replaced at 125k.
Sorry, misread your post as I thought your GS was CPO! Most of us have had a reliable experience with the GS, and it is unfortunate to hear you've had so many problems in your short time owning it. Your issues are certainly not the typical ownership experience as most owners on here will tell you.
Hopefully it hasn't soured you or your wife to the point of getting rid of it sooner than you want to...if its been solid since all the fixes, its certainly worth keeping.
IS350 had 120k, also had it's share of issues. At 90k all 4 shocks blown, water pump, bunch of O2 sensors, head light leveling sensor, side mirror mechanism broke (mirror fell off the car), exhaust flex had to be replaced on both pipes, rear calipers seized....maybe I am missing something.
Wife said why you fixed up my IS350, sold it and bought me this sht box lol
But seriously, I like the car and so does she. But we are both surprised at so many issues. It's 100% fine now and all fixed, but what's next on the list? I hope I don't have to replace shocks on this like I did on IS.....that was pretty expensive.
My friend just lost his engine (few mos ago actually) on a 2IS IS350 130k miles. head popped/cracked. Well maintained, no overheat etc. also the clear coat peeled on all top surfaces (hood roof trunk, top of fenders) and all the window mouldings peeled. he also lost his AC use for a few mos cause the LCD stopped working and he had no way of controlling the AC

I had clear coat issues as well on plastic roof trim. Also heard about tranny and engine issues on 250s
lol I've been buying and selling cars for 25 years and had my own dealership. I know a thing or two about cars. And I purchased GS from Lexus dealership from the manager that I know. He was pissed just as I was when the car came back for $3k repair. (took 3 trips to fix it)
I buy Lexus cars for wife thinking they are reliable and I dont have to deal with them. I buy German cars for myself because I know they arent that reliable and I am willing to put time into fixing them. Unfortunately its been the other way around with IS and GS. <<knock on wood>> I am praying GS is all good until 100k for now, otherwise wife will keep nagging me on this purchase
Believe me, I know how butt hurt Lexus guys are when it comes to reliability. I just posted my experience. Obviously its not a lemon as many issues are documented in Lexus TSB (as noted above), unless you want to say that Lexus makes mostly lemons (central locks, HVAC, and vacuum pump(s) have TSB, not sure about shocks). Its not something new that I posted here.....
Its not really Lexus Guys, they are not having all these problems. It's you who have a problem used car.
Anyone with the car experience you claim would have been gotten rid of the unreliable car they bought for their wife. Being experienced I would guess you did not over pay for the car. Start a why I Sold my GS350 thread as soon as you can. I think all are sorry for you. Most experienced car guys Don't end up buying problem cars. That's really the only problem here, not the Lexus Guys problem. Seems your checks all the problems.
Folks, please kindly simmer down. It's one thing to be passionate about your vehicle of choice and another to bash each other. Can we try to be tad bit more civil here?

Honda is certainly a very reliable brand as well.
I had a 92 Prelude SI bought new and drove to 170K miles without failure until it was totaled. I did however replace the timing belt/water pump as part of maintenance schedule.
In my opinion my current 2013 GS350 with now 148K miles is in the same category if not better in terms of reliability and has a timing chain thus no preventive maintenance requirement for belt, not to mention it drives better in the snow (AWD vs FWD), handles better in all conditions, is much faster, better safety features and more luxurious etc. I am even still on my original suspension components.
I obviously like the car, but I guess reliability is the main reason why I bought it. Hoping for the best, just replaced rear brakes few days ago as well. Drives nice now. Pictures of current garage:
Antifreeze turns Acdic after a while; which eats away at the gaskets.
DO NOT WAIT 5 YEARS to get a radiator flush done at the dealer.
People who do this service every 3 years have had 0 issues. Can't find a single person who kept up with the radiator fluid who had a seal go bad.
Or at least test it. I test the brake fluid and antifreeze at least once a year.
Personally, I have never owned a truly trouble-free car/truck. Everything going back to my first car had something that needed replacing beyond oil and filter. My (first) Lexus is the current 13 GS 350 AWD that I've had for 5 years. I've put a few wheel bearings and a brake sensor along with the clock. Everything else is pretty much wear & tear items like tires, oil, filter, etc.
My wife likes Hondas but we had to have a new start button put in her 2016 HR-V and there was a recall of some sort that I can't remember right now.
I do most of my own maintenance so unless it leaves me on the side of the road, it isn't a troublesome/problematic car.
