My '08 GS460 only has 76,000 miles.. was trying to keep it stock so I keep the same ride.. are there aftermarket with the same quality??
Thats low mileage for the rotors, I replaced my rotors at 180k. If all your needing is pads, have them cut at a machine shop and just run some akebono pads.

Previous owner had the car serviced at Lexus of New Orleans and records indicate they REPLACED front pads and rotors at 30,488 miles and rear pads were replaced at 35,585 and rear rotors were resurfaced.. Seems like overkill to me! How long should pads and rotors last?? With such few miles, the car obviously just driven in town and not highway miles! Appreciate the help!

My last set of pads lasted 75,000 miles! Who told you, you needed pads and rotors? You replace the brake pads when they become thin or the limit squeal indicator make noises. You replace the rotors when they wear down in metal thickness, there is a minimum thickness stamped on the sides of rotors, what you do is buy a digital caliper from harbour freight and simply measure the thickness.
But considering they have already been replaced, you have a lot cheaper choice to just "cut" to make them like new again if you plan to change pads. Most machine shops or napa, oreally, turn rotors for you, they charge anywhere from $15-25 per rotor, they will only touch them if there within spec to grind them.
I can't believe Lexus of New Orleans replaced pads and rotors at 30k!! Previous owner took the car back to them every 5k, whether he needed amything or not! I will get these checked out, thanks!!

Maybe customer complaint was a squealing noise, common problem on our cars, is the brake squeal when the lube inside the calipers drys or dirt/sand gets lodged in there. Especially when the cars cold! Simply removing the calipers and thoroughly cleaning and lubing all the parts stops the noises. But in your cars case the dealer is in the business of making money off labor and parts, so of course they will upsale everything

I wonder if it was a situation where the owner was complaining about a perceived issue during braking, and the dealership was chasing it.
