New to the lexus world
What's up everybody!! So I bought my 07 gs350 last year with 204,000 miles on it.. didnt do much research just figured hey its toyota so I should at least get 300,000 easily (as In with not much money put into it) right?.. lol.. right away had a few problems.. some more reasonable then others like complete brake job.. tune up stuff.. (spark plugs, oil, filters etc.) But then I got hit with that low oil level pretty quick.. I do drive alot for work.. at the time was 70 miles round trip.. no leaks just consumption.. so that's one problem. Then I got hit with a bad fuel pressure sensor.. this page helped alot with that btw.. thanks all!!!.. changed it myself with a toyota replacement.. was cheaper then ntk.. then I got hit with p0420 check engine light and it's still on!!!!.. i changed the 2 lower oxy sensors and nothing still on n the last time I checked the codes some misfires come up on the codes p03somethings.. I've been thinking of trying the 1 gallon of lacquer thinner to half a tank of gas.. have you all tried this method of cleaning the sensors and catalysts? If so has it worked for you? Or should I stay away from doing that with this car? Also ..I've used crc valve cleaner.. that was awhile ago.. I think before the check engine light came up.. just recently I used crc g2p.. so yeah.. I've read alot on the oil consumption stuff and seems like everybody has different opinions on it.. what I want to know is how can I help this motor consume less oil.. I'm almost positive this is the reason why my check engine light is on with that p0420 code.. goes through the pipes n dirties it all up right?.. idk.. thanks for reading and let me know.. if y'all have time. What spark plugs, oil, oil filter, do u guys use? I use a high mileage oil either Mobil or Castro gtx synthetic blend .. but I'm thinking of using the full synthetic that costco sells ..(kirkland) I hear nothing but good from that oil n it's easy on the wallet.. thanks all
