Default Sound deadening

Hey everyome, i have a question. I habe used dynamat for all my previous cars. But lexus seems to be quite quiet already. But has anyome added deadeners to doors and inner wheel wells? Truck and rear seat and deck are already done. If you habe done this, what is your opinion on it. Was it worth the time? Did you notice any differences? I am running 265/30/20 infronts and thought i could possibly use the deadeners in the wheel wells. But i have never done that. Is it worth it? Ty again to all. Happy new years!

If your are running a 265 for a front tire, more likely you have removed the sound deadening, and maybe the fender liners as well. So I think you will benefit from it inside the front fenders.

hey there!!! Actually all wheel liners are still on there and have not been messed with at all. I did have to cut alil here and there for the turn radious as it hit alil by the front bumper. Other than that, i didnt touch anything. I am replacing wheel liners soon. (Have the liners just have to install when i have time.) But wonderimg while everything is off, should i go ahead and dynamat thhe fender well? And habe u done the doors yet? Was it beneficial? It sounds already pretty solid for the doors. But on the fence of doing the doors lol ty for your help

interesting when I ran 245/35/20 I had to grind down the pinch welds and do a lot of shaving to make them fit.

As for the dynamat, that stuff pretty expensive, ive used it in the past on other cars. Im pretty sure there are alternatives, as for where to place it, its up to you and to what level you want to take it. If it were my car, I would do the inside of the front fenders, and under the hood

Well i have tons of dynamat. I usually keep it on hand. I do it locally for the car groups here in town. i personally live dynamat. Ive tried other competitors and others jist dont seem to be of as quality as dynamat is. But ok awesome. Ill gibe it a go amd try the inmer fenders. Under the hood already has a pretty thick carpet layer. Possibly will do that dowm the road. Appreciate you greatly! 🤙

I would put the dynamat under the hood in between the hood liner. Our engines are pretty noisy especially with the clicking of the high pressure fuel pump.

There are a few guys that run 265 in the front, but thats super extreme fitment, thats why I was surprised to read you didnt have to cut a lot of stuff to fit them. 245 in the front is a good size! I think you will benefit putting them inside the fenders as that should quiet down the noise from the tires, the wider tire you go from oem size, the more noises it creates.

Are our windows double pane? That helped a lot in my Buick Verano. My lexus GS (2006) is louder than my verano was. And then add all the dashboard creaks on top.

Most of the noise that I see on GS's is from tire noises, while driving. Ive had mediocre tires mounted, and top quality tires. The lesser quality tires made more cabin noises. Same with creaks, if your wheel and tires are not properly balanced or tread is uneven or even if you have a bend that will make things creak and create noise. This is why I suggested putting dynamat on the inside of the fender, to quiet road noise from the tires.

I remember reading somewhere that the 08 and up has additional sound deadening from the factory. If you're brave enough, you could add additional sound deadening to the firewall.

Hey guys, I did full sound deadening in steps. Started by fixing creaking noises in cabin and finished by full deadening. )
Best thing against tyre noise(hard without a car lift): put sound deadening inside wheel arches

Best against suspension and road noises(easy): sound insulation on the floor ( This made car feel a lot more premium )

I think most insulation was from insulating doors (hard).

In my car, most of the noise comes from the tires and the sunroof. There's a big difference on the highway between when the sunshade is closed vs when it's open. I don't know if it is normal because I remember in most cars it makes nearly no difference. Maybe I will replace the seal when spring comes.

My winter tires, even being quality tires, definitely make more noise than summer tires. Adding insulation to the wheel wells could benefit to owners living in areas where they are required.

I regret laminated or double pane glass wasn't offered on the GS too. It's so well equipped from factory, that would have been a nice icing on the cake. But this car is still very quiet. I hear distinctively tire and wind noise, but I realized this is because I'm used to my car. I rode in a 2015 CR-V not too long ago, and at 80 km/h, I thought I was in an industrial washing machine.
