Hello I have a 2010 Lexus gs350 AWD stock17
on my cluster it states that my mpg is 14.3 .
is this the norm ? Car had Now 44xxx on the clock! I read that some people are getting 18-20 city driving.. I wish I can have that ..
if so is there anything I can replace to make it go to that number since I use the car for work for drop off and pick ups.?so miles count!
My last car the bmw 750 was better on gas but it’s also had a bigger gas tank..my fill up are after like 3 days of driving around town...6 hrs stop go pick up drop off... help plz..! Thanks
2007 GS350 RWD stock
- 30-31 mpg highway
- 21-24 mpg around town...not stop and go for the full tank
- AWD should be a few mpg less
Are you running name brand high test gas?
How heavy is your foot during acceleration?
Have you looked at a dragging brake or worn wheel bearing?
Other things to check: new spark plugs (Toyota only), clean air filter, motor oil weight (5w30)?
I agree, your gas mileage appears to be low for a car with so few miles.
Damn 21-24 wow I wish!
well I’m nyc so it’s every traffic light a few blocks away! I mostly use 93 gas mobile 1!(more common)
dont know about Heavy foot ant I just filled up at shell 93 (first time) and I starting to try to drive like a grandpa and I’ll see if it makes a difference.. on my next fill up my brake got done2 months ago they check everything and told me they look good ( great long time Indy shop) I use Castro’s 5w-30 synthetic.. air and cabin changed!
Original denso plugs! Waiting for Lexus to get the parts for my car for the fuel rail and fuel pressure sensor to do the recall on my year vin!
I’ll tell them to change the plugs since there gonna be all open !! Hopefully I’m heavy footed and don’t realize I’ll know on my next empty tank if driving slower make all the difference!!
Thanks for your reply !!!!!
1. Air filter
2. Air tire psi bump it up to 38-40 psi
3. remove and clean the throttle body and or do a top engine clean with seafoam
4. clean the maf sensor
5. Take off at stops lights a bit slower and smoother, the killer is at take off
Every know and then on an open highway, mash the throttle to clean out the engine of gunk. Driving to slow often adds more carbon gunk inside the engine. A good thrashing or italian tune up helps blow out the junk out of the tail pipe. Also during winter time, northern gas stations switch to a winter blended fuels that are terrible for gas mileage. So more likely that is your issue
nice all 4s on the clock! i have a photo of mine at the same. have you ever reset the mpg indicator? I think you press and hold the display button on the steering wheel or something. my 460 stays right at 21.4 combined, with a good mix of highway and city driving, and I don't drive it lightly.
Do a battery reset. Disconnect the battery for about 15 mins, reconnect and drive. It will force the computer to relearn your driving pattern. See if it helps.
I did the air up for My tires (for the cold) psi is 36 so you suggested that 38 and up is better for the cold winter! The cleaning I would definitely do if someone in Brooklyn New York someone know that would do it right.. my Indy shop is to busy for that job .. and I rather let someone do that than myself... like I said early I got this last fill up and drove like a turtle to see if it makes a difference and also I’m gonna drive it this one time all the way to 5 miles left to get the actual miles..tbh I never even realize the mpg nor did I hear the little bit of creaking in my dash before I was on club Lexus ... reading all these issues makes you aware of the little issue but it is what it is..Thank goodness my bmw 750 is a weekend car !!
I will definitely do the battery reset as the last option! Ill update you guys/gals after my empty fill-up which will be tomorrow!!!!
many thanks!!!
BTW IF YOU GUYS GET FOOD APP DELIVERY PLZ TIP ATEAST ONE DOLLAR!!
GAS AND PARKING TICKETS HURTS!!

it’s probably on the owners Manuel but it’s in my car and when I’m in the car I just jump in to drive to get that $$$
that picture was definitely a once in a lifetime pic that I notice when I was parked at a pump!!

I did the Italian tune up this whole quarantine..
on highways and bridges...!! Love the car
my favorite is the 1st gen..
thanks a lot clublexus for making me notice the mpg..!! Hahaaaa
maybe I was heavyfootted..?!!!
You can easily do an easy top engine cleaning, buy a can of seafoam with the spray nozzle, or any other combustion cleaner. With the car running very hot, lift up the hood, pop open the engine cover, just yank it straight up. On the drivers side there a blocked off nipple on the intake manifold on the drivers side, with pliers remove that clamp and slide off the plug with the car running. You will hear a vacuum sound and sucking from that port, slide that nozzle for the seafoam inside that port, and use your fingers to block off the rest of the open gap. Next simply spray the fluid, fully the car will stumble and run rough keep spraying to the point that it doesnt shut off. Spray half the bottle, turn of the car and repeat for the rest of the can. Then put back on the plug, clamp, engine cover and let the car idle to remove the rest of the chemicals.
If you do the combustion cleaning as recommended, make sure you park in a location where the smoke can dissipate and not bother others. You will be shocked at how much smoke you will generate.

no wheels for sale! mine just has the fan-style 5 spoke 18s.
to reset the mpg on the cluster- while it is showing on the display, press and hold the display button for a few seconds.

This should help clean out some of the internals.
Throttle body cleaning is super easy aswell
sorry but can you send me a pic with which vacuum hose to unplug with it marked on the pics and I’ll give it a shot...(if it’s no trouble)wouldn’t hurt and hope it’s doesn’t make my cluster a Xmas tree after... I’m gonna take out the air filter to check the throttle for build up... tbh I just don’t like removing the battery positive cable... that’s why I didn’t check the throttle
I get bad luck with anything electric for some reason
