Hello,
There is somekind of knocking noise coming from engine when running. Anyone have this same knocking noise? Oils have been regulary changed and odometer is about 177 000km right now.
I saw somekind of discussion about lexus recall regarding valve springs. Car is EU but could it be affected by this same problem?
2007 Lexus GS 450h.

Car was just in recall because somekind of fuel high pressure seal, but this doesnt seem to affect above problem.

 

Hard to really help you diagnose this throught the internet without seeing the car. But it is possible a messed up valve spring. Does the knock increase with engine rpm?

 

couldnt rev the engine when standing still, i think this hybrid system is preventing to do so. Noise is coming from passenger side and near firewall, could it be high pressure fuel pump?

 

Ya that is the direct injection pump, and with the hood open its a pretty loud knocking sound. Check the underside of your hood to make sure the sound deadening is there, sometimes if cars have been in an accident, shops will not replace that. That pad helps quiet engine noises.

 

Yeah it seems to be the high pressure pump that makes the noise. I ordered that cover for pump to help a little, i might also make RVS treatment for fuel system to see if it helps too to reduce noise. Underhood insulations were all ok and in place.
