Default CHECK ABS / Brake Malfunction (please help)

Hey guys, new member in here. Thanks for the add.

I drive a 2009 Lexus GS450H with 90k miles on it
The car drives fine, could have better gas mileage but I’m just being nit picky that’s all. All of a sudden these lights pop up with these notifications. Does anybody know the reasoning behind it? Thanks in advance guys

You need to get it scanned by lexus or toyota dealer. Is the braking system under the hood making any noises? It can be something as easy as a bad abs sensor or it can be the dreaded brake abs pump/module, these cars runs the same abs module like the Gs430/GS460/Gs450H/and similiar also to the LS460. These pumps/module are not reliable like the GS350's. The pumps are expensive almost 2 grand for a new one, and used $600-900.

hey thanks for the response. I had a rattling noise. Went to have it looked at and my mechanic said it’s from the abs module. Ended up finding one on eBay. He said it should be an easy fix

ended up getting a pump module for $800+ as well on eBay. So I’m swapping out both the pump and control modules

Good that you found a pump and replaced both, we had to do that on our LS that uses a system similiar to the 450h/460 in that they fail at under 100k. Mechanic suggest to replace both at the same time aswell.

Its a good thing you didnt prolong it, because on our LS the brake pump caused a small fire, then tottaly failed, and gave us hardly any brakes in the car.

The GS350 use a totally different designs and have zero issues with the braking system, its only the LS460/GS460/GS450H
