Default Tire Recommendations

I have a 2006 GS430 with the standard 18" rims (245 40 r18) and was wondering if anyone has any good tire recommendations? I originally had Pirelli's on the car, but then put cheaper Hankook's, which I hated. I live in LA, so winter performance doesn't matter much to me. Prefer something that will ride quieter vs. harsh/rough like the current Hankook's.

Michelins, but not a race compound. I previously had michelins and just purchased a set of pirelli p7. The michelins were a lot quieter and smoother, these pirellis im having to lower the tire psi to have a smoother ride.

I've had Conti DW, Kumho Ecsta, Bridgestone 760 sport, my favorite overall was the Bridgestone. All on 3GS's and same sizes.

I heard the bridgestone were good, I was going to buy them. But at the time pirelli offered me the best deal

Pilot sport 4 (not the 4s, not the cup, etc - just regular 4) - major improvement in NVH and wet performance over PS3, from what I've read. I run them as summer (half the year here), no complaints for what they are... obviously harsher than my winter alpin 6 225/50/17 set but that's part of the ridiculously large wheels tax

I know you’re not looking for an all season tire, but the continental DWS06 are incredibly quiet and comfortable, at least for the first 20,000 miles, after which the noise has noticeably increased.

I had the Michelin Pilot A/S 3's a while back, and the rubber compound began to degrade and flake apart around 20k miles. Apparently they had issues with the tires from that year, so got them to replace the tires through their warranty service with some Super Sports for only $700, and I don't like them at all. I'll probably go back to the All-Seasons next time around.

Seems like Michelins do not like hot weather, because mine dryed out and cracked after 2.5 years, but they ran smooth/quiet/comfortable. Only reason I changed them was because of the cracks.

I had the AS3’s for one week. I couldn’t take the noise and harshness. I hated driving my car. Maybe I had a defective set.

Happened when I was living in the Seattle area, so hot weather definitely wasn't a factor, haha. They were just made out of a defective rubber compound, apparently.

Do you remember the country of origin they were made in?
