Hi,
Recently I noticed that my Smart Access no longer works. Before I would be able to have the key in my pocket and the doors would open if I pulled the door handle. Now I am unable. I am still able to start the car and unlock by pushing the unlock button on the key fob. Does anyone know of a fix?

 

Can you unlock the passenger side door?

 

When was the last time that you replaced the battery in the fob?

 

It looks like it works now! I tried the passenger side which worked and when I locked again and tried the driver’s side it worked. Thanks!

 

May not have been your situation this time but the Smart Entry does time out if the
car has not been driven for quite awhile. Forgotten how long but it is a week or
10 days kind of interval.

 

Maybe your key fob battery is getting weak

 

my smart access works, but i can't get it to unlock all four doors with the pull of the drivers handle. pulling any other handle will unlock all four, but the driver's door won't. dealer tried to change it and couldn't find the option to make it work; I tried techstream on my own too to see if I could figure it out, but no luck. Anyone know what option needs to be changed with techstream to make it work?

 

Is it difficult to reach through the driver's side passenger door handle to unlock all the doors?

The Techstream can change to one of three alternate unlocking results BTW.
Driver's door sensor touch unlocks all doors (This is what mspearl95 seems to want)
Driver's door sensor unlocks both Driver's side doors (but not the curbside doors)
Touch any door and only that door unlocks

 

I had a similar problem with passenger rear door. The cable came undone, reconnect the cable. All is well.

 

no sorry i wasn't clear. the drivers handle will unlock itself when i pull it, but it won't unlock all four. the other three handles will unlock all four.

 

May I tag onto this? 2012 IS 250. Driver door Smart Access stopped working, including the button on the handle. It still works on the passenger side. Back to the driver side, the fob does flash red when it should unlock the door. Fob battery is new and voltage tested good.

Any thoughts on this one?
