Default GS350 07 vs 08?

I'm still in the market for a 3rd Gen GS. I've found 2 locally that i am interested in. One is a 07 model with 190k miles and is selling for $5500. The other one is a 08 model with 160k miles and is selling for $11,000. Now i know you guys will recommend the 08 model but for about $6,000 difference, will i be better off with the 08 model even though the mileage is almost as high as the 07 model? Just trying to see if there's any real major difference between these 2 with the info provided. Thanks.

A bit less than I paid for my 11 with 91K ... hmmm. Not a good price. How are the service records on the 180K one?

11K for 2008 is a bit steep. I live in Canada and I dont know the market value in your area. I own 2007 GS AWD and I love it. it has 130K on it and runs well. if I were to choose i will go with 2007 as it is almost half the cost. The most important thing before rushing in is to check it carefully. check for leaks (coolant and oil), suspension and rust, do OBDII scan (you can buy one off amazon pretty cheap) for codes, exhaust for white smoke, gear shifting...etc
A bonus: if you want to be 95% confident about the engine, then do a compression test.

maintenance has been up to date, the owner says the high mileage is mostly highway miles from driving to work only. im seriously thinking about checking out the 07 even though it has higher mileage.

That 07 is not badly priced, but that 08 is worth about 6,500-7 grand max with that much mileage. I personally would try to hold off buying a car for about a month or two oct/nov/dec prices drop unless you find a smoking deal. 15-20% car prices drop at those times, but jan/feb/mar they are at their highest for tax season so car dealers will stock up earlier. That 07 is priced decent, but thats a lot of miles. Try to find something with atleast 120k and under.

The 07 will NOT have a way to plug your phone in for music other than a tape deck. You can buy a grom audio though and install it yourself, allowing you digital audio. If you can build a computer you can do this own your own with the 150$ part. I am pretty sure(maybe someone can chime in) that the 08 GS has an auxiliary input stock. However if you have a mark levinsons in that GS3 youre gonna want digital, if you have any ear for music.

thanks for the info, i did not know that the 07 doesnt come with an AUX input. I actually use this in my current car right now so AUX is a must. Cant believe an 07 model doesnt come with this option.
