Question 3GS Purchase/PPI Advice

Hi Everyone,

I found the perfect 2008 GS 350 AWD via a private seller for 12,300 with only 71,500 miles. Last service in Lexus driver's site shows back in 2015 at the selling dealership around 58,000, but owner has receipts for updated servicing. My question and where I need advice is: there are several service dealers in the area, and I set up a PPI at the 2nd closest dealer that the owner does not go to - thinking that the PPI may be biased since the owner bought and had it serviced there - may have a relationship with the service guys, and since they also own and service a 2014 GS at the same dealer.

Am I putting myself at a disadvantage by not having the selling and servicing dealer do the PPI? I have been searching for months, dealers...etc... Nationwide with the intent of flying out and driving back the perfect 3GS, and this is the first private seller I came across - the car is in pristine condition - appears to be the Ultra Luxury with ML and G-Spider wheels when I went to see and test drive it, with such low miles and barely 20 miles away from me and I want to make sure I get the best and thorough inspection since a warranty is harder to secure for a private sale and these cars are known to burn oil.....

Thanks guys!

I doubt the ppi would be biased, because you can call them out on it later by filing a complaint with lexus corporate. I wouldnt put too much worry about it! Have you checked the carfax history? The worst case with buying online and flying and not liking the vehicle is that you will need to buy a return ticket, thats a lot better then dumping money on a lemon.
