gs300 2006
i have a 06 gs300 just hit 105,000 miles. never had any issues, But now my oil light has been coming quite often saying low engine oil, generally happens when i still have 15-2000 mile to go before next oil change. I'm using reg oil. has any experienced this problem? any suggestions? thanks in adv
Waiting until your oil pressure light comes on before you fill your oil is very bad practice. The oil light is telling you that the engine has already lost proper oil pressure to maintain the bearings and could lead to major engine failure. At the very least, you are significantly reducing the overall life of your engine. If you know that your engine is using oil, it would be wise to check it more often and keep it filled so that it does not lose oil pressure.
Read your manual. If the oil light comes on, you are supposed to shut the engine off immediately to avoid engine damage.

Take out the spark plugs pour seafoam into all the spark plug holes, put the plugs back in without the coil packs and let it sit overnight. This will allow the seafoam to seep attack the carbon and hopefully loosen up the grime on the pistons. This hopefully may help the consumption issue.
Because 2006's build carbon I would also remove the intake manifold, and manually clean inside of the heads, and the valves using seafoam or Mopar combustion cleaner and with long stiff brushes to reach the valves.
After you install the intake and clean up the heads. Remove the spark plugs and with compressed air blow out all the seafoam that you poured in. Replace the plugs, clean the throttle body.
Or you can tear apart the engine and manually clean everything and buy new piston rings, bearings, and gasket set.

See my post #5 above. Your engine is using oil so it needs to be checked more often than at your oil changes. If you continue to wait to add oil until your oil pressure light comes on you are going to be looking for a new engine. Check your oil at each fuel fill up and add as much as it takes to keep the oil level at the top mark on the oil dip stick.
If you want to try to stop your engine from using so much oil, see the recommendations that ibidu1 listed in post #9.
