08 GS350 Starting Issue
I am having a starting issue when the ambient temp is 90 or higher. Car sits all day at work and heats in the sun. When I get in to go home, I press starter button...car fires and quickly stalls. This happens for 2 or 3 repetitions then all is well and the car runs. Car starts normal first thing in the morning when outside temp is cool. Any ideas on possible cause?
To me it sounds like the throttle body is gummed up, I would remove it and clean both sides thoroughly. Also when was the last time you replaced the sparkplugs and the airfilter? If not I would do them both and run a bottle of seafoam through the intake manifold.
Doubtful since it only happens in very hot weather; if TB gummed up, it would occur all the time. Plugs and a/f have been replaced. Thank-you
I would still clean the TB inside and out as the TB is fly by wire and is controlled electronically. As you start the engine most likely it moves on its own to adjust for a pre start. Also may aswell clean the mas airflow sensor while your there. Both can be done in less then 30min
Another thing to maybe consider is battery voltage, as the weather heats up so do batteries. Maybe your first attempt at starting didnt give you enough cranking power to fully spin up the engine. Maybe your battery or battery terminals need to be test and checked.
