Hi all, my front brakes make an annoying 'clunk' when braking, usually when going slowly then braking fairly hard, but most prominent when braking, then reversing, then braking, then going forward again, then braking, etc
It doesn't always do it with general driving. The front discs and pads are new, but the clunking was occuring before this.
327k miles on the clock, drives perfectly!

Most likely the caliper...

 

Clean and lubricate caliper pins, I've used Sil-Glyde in the past with great results.

 

I have the same problem mine is a 09 with 26k on it. I am reading that previous Gs have the same problem someone fixed it by installing brake pad shims but i haven't found any for my model . Its from brake bad movement i am guessing

 

Same problem on my 06 GS430, probably brake pad movement; annoying but not harmful it seems.
