Default Check System Light

Hi All,

Just had the Check System sign come up on the dash. I went to Auto Zone to get warning code, but it came up blank. Auto Zone says the engine is working fine w/o any issues. I checked online and I see that it might be related to the tire pressure. I checked all tires and they are at 33 psi. Any other ideas?
Thank you!

If u also have the orange tire pressure icon lit up then it's likely that a tire pressure sensor has gone bad. Just had the exact same thing happen. Apparently the internal battery on the sensor goes out. What year is your car? They last for about 10 years. Got all four new ones on ebay and they are working fine. Try going to a local tire shop and they can usually test them pretty quickly

I read somewhere that if you inflate your tires 10 psi over recommended pressure(33 in your case) 43 PSI then deflate down to 35, then the tires pressure light will go out after around 30 miles. Not sure if it will work for you but give it a try. I have done this and it resets the sensors.

Thank you for the responses! The GS is an 07, so I see the tpms sensors have about a 10 year lifespan, which makes sense. I will try to inflate 10 psi over and deflate back to 33. Also, will take it to where I get my tires and see if they can test as well. I'll keep ya'll posted on what I find out.

I'd say it's your TPMS. I switched wheels and didn't put my TPMS in. I drive less than 5 miles today work and the Check System light never came on till I drove it 40+ miles before that error message came on. Checked the car out and everything is fine. Switched new wheels and putbthe TPMS on. Viola! Gone! I'm almost sure that it's your TPMS. Make sure you do what others say to reset your TPMS. 30+ miles of driving. Good luck.
