One of my rear strut is leaking after about 65k miles on my 2008 GS350. I know that KYB is the same as OEM. Any other recommendations? Or anyone got some for sale?
Which brand and model you used fahhad?? Kyb gas-a-just? Oem?
i did it from lexus dealer, i think they use kyb, but not the general KYB, those are all same, with different mount for different vehicle , i asked them ... kyb make custom strut for lexus vehicle, according to vehicle weight and handling ......... and lexus had to order from japan for my 2007 GS350.... RWD, took them 15days ....
DO NOT USE REGULAR KYB, YOU WILL LOSE ALL LEXUS FUN... use only dealer one .... if you wanna save money install by your self, my struts fully done from lexus ....
man!!!!! my car drive like brand new, best investment for my car......for my older es300 i just use kyb from online store and it lost all the comfort feeling ...but here is the catch all lexus dealer dont wanna go thru hasel from ordering japan, they most of the time use general KYB ...... my lexus service manager was more lexus fanatic then me .....
KYB Gas a just is the same exact shock as OEM. I replaced my 08 GS350 rear shocks even though they were good and I put them side by side. Both are identical, compression and rebound the same. But the new was slower rebound as it was a new fresh shock.
Even if you have adaptive suspension adjustment option, you can still run the KYB non adjustable struts and shocks. You will no longer be able to adjust them, but the good this is you will not have error codes. Many guys on here have run them!
yup... i actually didn't go to dealer route and order shock and did the job myself...
AFS light came on, is not the little arm in the back, really don't know what to do
LMAO LMAO hahahahahha.... i knew .... so many ppl have this same problem, i would never do that... DIY .......when i went to pick my gs350 i had the same afs prob, i freaked out right way , next day all fixed with 3 years warranty !!! wow... what a satisfaction .... every single penny to dealer was worth......ALSO i would never put a regular strut to those lexus come with adaptive strut ..... seriously funny ...

my GS450h has adaptive strut, is actually just a HID ballast looking plug on the top mount of the strut, plug and play, really easy.
as for the AFS light, i just did more forum search today and AFTER 3 YEARS I FIGURE OUT!! THE ARM WAS ACTUALLY SWING THE WRONG WAY
