need a recommendation for new rotors for my 2006 GS300 RWD. Recently, I ordered Akebono Performance pads from Tirerack after a bit of research on here. The mechanic I took it to have it replaced advised me that I need new rotors as well. I took it with a grain of salt because he refused to put my pads and offered to purchase from him. However, I have shaking and a bit wobbling when I apply the brakes from higher speeds, and upon closer observation I realized that I do need new rotors as the old ones have been all scratched up from overused brake pads.
Is there a specific brand or model you folks have had experience with? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Of course oem is always good but if you want to save money, I've used Centric rotors with akebono pads on my old GS with no issues, they'll have them on rockauto
Another vote for oe here if you can muster the courage to pony up. A can say that centric rotors are great as I've used them before on a different car. I can also vouch for raybestos and stoptech(same company as centric) as they are great too and price wise depending on which one you look at are around the 50-70 dollar range per rotor.

Thank you very much!
I've purchased both OEM and aftermarket. If OEM is within 50% of aftermarket, I have gone with OEM but if it's much more I'll go aftermarket. For whatever reason I purchased OEM front brake rotors for the same price as aftermarket from Irontoad (when they were still in business). The rears I had to go with aftermarket as they were double. They both do the job and both fit like they should and there is not a noticeable difference in wear after 25K+ miles BUT the aftermarket rotors rusted around the center hub where the OEM did not. I don't know what the OEM ones use on their rotors to prevent rust but after a few years, still no rust. The aftermarket ones looked like crap after a couple of months, so bad I removed them and painted them black (not the actual braking surface). Actually waiting a month or so made it easy to know where to tape off. BTW, I saw some postings about using BBQ paint instead of the special brake rotor paint, and it worked fine. No rust showing thru the paint.
