Default Switch box button release illumination

hello, it's been some time. For some reason the little light where the switch box open release button doesn't light up anymore. Is this repairable? Or does this require the entire switch box assembly to be replaced? Or quite possibly a fuse that went out. I finally noticed cause at night I couldn't find the release and today I noticed a little square like the rest of the illuminated switches and dials. Please help. Thanks

Based on this thread it looks like it's repairable: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...y-led-guy.html

If you look at the second picture in the first post, it looks that light was replaced with a white one

I can't say how easy it is, but it's definitely doable

If it's anything like the 1st gen Scion tC, they should be those SMD led lights. It would require you to desolder and solder on a new SMD light. It's not as simple as twisting those tiny bulbs out.

It does involve desoldering and soldering tiny smd led's and patients. I did mines a few months ago. Either you're a DIYer or you're better off buying another switch box. Used switch box ranges from $100-$180 on ebay. Just use the keywords "multi function dash switch box" on ebay and you should pull a few up.
