Get a few quotes from exhaust shops around your area. They can probably cut and weld the bad sections of the pipe.
If the work is say, less than $1000, that's not much to spend on an otherwise dependable luxury car.
Burning oil is a common issue as these engines get old. Maybe you can try decarbing the engine to see if it helps.

Which cat converter is bad? Front left, front right or rear cats? And how much oil does it burn, how many miles before you have to add a quart of oil?
