Fixing plastic "peg" in center console compartment
Hey everyone:
I'm sure I'm not the only one that's run into this issue. The plastic "****" or "peg" that holds the additional storage tray in the center console storage, has worn out and won't support the tray anymore. I've attached a photo.
Essentially just looking for a quick fix if anyone has any creative ideas

The long term fix is to buy a new tray – the part number is 58801-30271, and costs $30.
The short term fix is to:
1. Take out the tray.
2. Find a plastic rod that has a diameter equal to or smaller than the pegs that were sheared off.
3. Cut two new pegs from the rod, each about 3-5mm long, with an x-acto knife or 11 blade.
4. Smooth the areas where the pegs were sheared off with so the surfaces are fairly even (I used the same knife as from step 3 for this). Also, clean the areas with alcohol.
5. Using the strongest glue you have (preferably a cyanoacrylate glue or stronger), glue the first peg and let it dry for ~1 hour, then glue the other side.
6. Let the glue set for 12-24 hours before putting the tray back in.
This temporary fix has held up for 6 months so far for me (I always forget to order a new tray when I get other parts, and I don't want to pay shipping just for a stupid tray).
Hope this helps!

Thanks. Will check out my nearby dollar store to see if they have anything
This is what I did, I grinded the plastic stub down further and grabbed 2 small drywall screws and I just screwed them on just enough to lock into place, so the screw acts like the pin part. . Not the prettiest but, 3 years and works great!
