umm no. If one prefer RWD, they should buy the 460. PLUS, the RWD and the AWD 350s are very similar with the SAME transmission. The AWD also has a "superb" acceleration, the RWD wins for a couple milli-sec. which you'll never notice. The AWD wins a in terms of handling and in bad weather.

1. not same trans mission,
2. AWD always slower then RWD....
3. not couple mili -sec, COUPLE thousand mili sec... ( 1 mili sec- 1/1000 sec)
4. for winter bad weather have another car...
clearly you never own GS

But on a serious note:
1. Technically you're right, but AWD and RWD have the same gear ratios. The difference is down to the extra bits to send power to the front axle in the AWD.
2. True up to a point, but I'm not gonna start debating the merits of RWD vs. AWD.
3. I believe the difference is something like 200-400ms, but the opportunities to actually do a 0-60 sprint are few and far between. 20-60 (for entering freeway) and 60-80 (for passing/getting into fast lane) are the more important ones, and I suspect that RWD and AWD have similar acceleration times in these ranges.
4. An AWD GS is far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far better than an SUV!
Note than I do prefer RWD because it's the more fun of the two drivetrains. But a GS350 is a superlative car regardless of drivetrain!

My wife has a Prius and I did have a 216 Tacoma. I got rear ended two weeks before we moved to Colorado and it got totaled out. We're looking to buy a house soon so we didn't want to get another car payment so we opted for the GS. As we live in Colorado we needed one car that has awd/4wd. If I lived in Cali or in Hawaii rwd would have been a no brainier. It was between an IS and a GS and we found this one with an exceptional history. Only a few days of having it and I don't regret it at all.

I just find irrational/baseless criticism annoying, especially when it's of a rational choice. Lol now if OP was all excited about how he got a 2004 Range Rover with original air suspension and electronics, and was bragging about being a savvy consumer for not being suckered into the extended warranty, I may not have said anything . Of course, the whole "don't shít on a man's new ride that he's obviously proud of" rule would still apply!
