I am interested in purchasing a car for my wife, a used car that is somewhat nice and won't cost me an arm and a leg. So I found a nice looking GS450H for 13k and it has 88k miles. Which sounds great to me. He did mention that he has had 2 cells replaced and that the battery is the original one. Should I be concerned that it's had problems already?
Yeah you should ask the guy where he got the cells replaced. So if it happens again, you don't have to fork out for the whole battery.
Also, the 450H is actually worse for economy in highway driving, the advantage is only in city driving.
The 450h is not worse for economy in highway driving...just better overall. If 25-28MPG is bad for a large car then, ok. Besides, I think if you are looking at a 450h you have to compare how it drives to the other models. I would say go drive it, and if you like how it drives pick it up. I have not been disappointed. (Except for the trunk space...if it matters)
If the battery had cells replaced then it should be like a new pack. I am not sure why people still fear the hybrid system.
