sometimes it could be the bulbs AND the ballast, as in my case. don't use cheap generic china bulbs on our cars, the base of the bulb will start melting in half a year.. which in turn will start melting the d4s bulb connector
i have similar issue but only when i am making right turn
not happening every right turn.
did replace bulbs with one from ebuy china d4s but after 3 months same issue.
flip switch on-off and both lights are on .
why is turning off when right turn is engaged,
in fogs put 35w 6000 k hid kit but bulb needs replacement every 2 weeks .

It is a coincidence that it goes out turning right. Use the factory bulbs from Phillips and they will last another 10 years like the first set did. Same is true of the fogs. Remember, those HIDs are pushing 20,000 Volts so if they aren't made exactly right they are going to not work right. Also why it is smart to disconnect battery and properly drain the ballasts before changing your lights.
Did anyone notice their headlight beam cutoff not being even between the two sides after install? I kind of expected mine to be a perfect horizontal line at the top. Is that reasonable or usually not the case?

The driver's side is designed to be a bit lower than the passenger's. This is to prevent the headlights from blinding the oncoming traffic. Totally normal.

Ahh okay. Thanks for that interesting tidbit. I thought that I may had done something wrong on the install. Good to know that this is a thing!
I had replaced bulbs with new philips bulb and still same issue.
I have noticed that while car was idle one of the bulbs started to do flickering .I think ballast needs to be replaced but dealer not selling it separately .It is part of head light assembly.
I put old bulbs back because problem is not in bulbs in my case.
I am still doing a lot of reading and researching in this field.
