As you mentioned, I did cut the wiring coming the ballast to the bulb fixture. And I soldered my LED wires to the cars wiring harness. So if I have to change anything out, I will have to de-solder my current wiring. If I would have used the plugs I told you about it can be a plug and play kit after prepping the LED assembly. For me it could take 1 minute. I love my light output, mind you that the beam needs to be adjusted in and out as well as the angle the lights which hits the reflector in the housing. I used my garage door which I previously marked with tape from the factory HID pattern. I've drivin my car in pitch black conditions on the highway headed to Houma Louisiana at 3AM on the morning and am very happy with my lighting. I even managed to spot a coon before it ran across the highway, luckily I was able to swerve around him. After installing the LEDs I did not have to adjust the horizontal position of the beam pattern on the Factory headlight assembly. In my wife's camry, I had too.

 

Your solution with the connector you are cutting the car's connector that plug into the Ballast. My solution, I leave that connector. So you see if need be, I just put that ballast back and plug the wiring back into the ballast. I am talking about this connector http://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.club...f746d55731.jpg

the in/out I uses the HID bulb as guide. I assume the HID bulb is placed at the best location. So I just adjust it to be the LED cell to be same location as the tiny HID bubble.

My aim now is good but the LED doesn't cast the light like the HID. The distant light just too weak.

Those HID bulbs should be good. I'm going on months with LED fogs/low beams and still very happy. As stated above, they don't have the distance projection, but I have 55watt HID high beams if i need more light. I'm sure my highs are brighter than anything else out there, been running those for a few years now.

 

Very tired of the GS low beam HIDs going out consistently so I think LED would be the better permanent solution. Looking to do a LED kit, does anyone here know of any new plug and play kits that came out?

OP's install looks pretty good.

 

LED's inside a projector housing do not throw the light out as well as a standard HID bulb does in my experience. the projector beam just doesn't reflect the light as well as a standard beam. for city driving this is of no matter but if you do a lot of highway driving like i do, this is a big concern

 

Have you tried the 55w LED bulbs yet?

 

I've tried everything from 4800 lumens to 8000 lumens, and none of them work as well as an HID bulb in a projector housing.

 

Best bet is Osram D4S CBI bulbs...

I bought the LEDs for the lows but I've got the hids now. I just bought the car it's a 2007 lexus is250 and I'm having trouble finding the plug in to hook up the LEDs. The hids have a cap that just clicks down on the bulb. Help? I don't know if you went from hids to stock or what I can't find anything online showing me how to change them. And I don't have an extra $200 for the dealership to swap em for me 😂

 

Going on year and a half or so with LED low beams. I have zero complaints and do not regret the changeout at all. I have not adjusted the fixtures since installing. If extra light is ever required, I do still have my 6 year old 55W HID high beams. Cant beat the light output of that setup.

Keep in mind, these are not quite plug and play. I had to remove the bumper so that i could access/remove the OEM HID ballast. Once removed i used the 12v power supply wires from the ballast to provide power to the led driver. I have some waterproof plugs i crimped into place on those power wires.

Ever since I replaced my Garax 8000k bulbs, I haven't had a single problem with the ballast/bulbs.

I recommend this bulb to almost anyone I see based off of my personal experience. I believe I'm going on year 5 or 6 now on them lol.... Still hasn't given me a single problem whatsoever.

 

I bought the LED kit but decided to get new xenon ballast and bulbs instead so if anybody wants to tackle the LED conversion, PM me, I'll send it to you for cheap.

 

Thinking about LED also. I drive alot at night and put on about 2200-2600 hours a year on the low beams mix city/hwy driving. 2007 GS450h
