Default Wheel hub assembly

I Have been looking and looking for a DIY for wheel hub assembly replacement. Is this job very difficult ? Does it require any specialized tools? Job difficulty on a scale 1-10.

Thanks.

Also, besides Sewell , where would u buy the wheel hub assembly?

Not that bad. Basically after getting axle nut off and tie rod you are home free:

Do it! I have said that every time I needed to do something, then I look around here and get some good info to tackle it. You will feel better about leaning a tad bit more about how your car is set up. That's what makes the forum great! Trust me some stuff I would not even think of attempting so I know hw you feel, but this is worth tackling.

At this point in my life I would bring it to a shop to get done and go have a nice lunch.

All tools. I have access to a number of tools but once I tear down everything over the weekend I won't have access. The tools will be at work and will be locked up.

Look at that first link up top. For special tools, you need a specific socket for Axle nut (30mm and has to be 12 pt not 6pt). AND you need tie rod end remover - can get at harbor freight. If you are buying entire hub assembly and not pressing new bearing in, you dont need a press.

I'm about to change the hub assembly on my 450h. I could do a picture DIY if requested, but I am currently encountering a problem. I took the rotors and caliper off, but the assembly won't come out. There were 4 screws and the ABS sensor that I took off. What do I do now? I'm looking at it and I don't think I need to remove the tie rod and I can't find an axle nut. I thought our cars don't have an axle nut. Any help?
