New to the site with a question about HID headlights
Hey I'm new here and was hoping that maybe one of you guys can help me with a problem I am having. Just bought a 2006 GS300 AWD yesterday. Like an idiot I didn't check it thoroughly enough and found out the the HIDs do not work for some reason. When I turn the switch to the on position, you hear a slight buzz from the ballast and then nothing. Everything else works just fine, just can't seem to find out what the problem is with the lights. I asked the owner and she swears up and down that it worked just fine. People are telling me that it may be the bulb but I don't know anyone with one that I could try out. Any ideas what this could be other than the bulbs? Sorry if this is super newb, haha, I don't know where else to go for help right now. WOuld order the bulbs but would be a waste if thats not the problem. Thanks for any help you guys could give me. Plan to take it to the dealership soon but just don't have the time right now.

both are out? would be an odd coincidence but its possible. if you do get new bulbs, do not get the cheap $30 bulbs. after a few months, these cars pretty much burn them out. you can get a cheap quality bulb to test the theory if it is the bulb or not. i highly doubt it is the ballast.
if you want to change the bulbs, this thread will help you in changing the bulbs

Thank you IXI187IXI, I don't plan on those cheap ones either. I found some factory ones for like 120 a pair I think. But yea, odd right? Both do not work and when I turn it on,I only hear the buzz from the ballast on one side.
