Default New HID bulb Flickers, turns off? Possible problem?

I just installed some brand new Garax HID 6000k DS4 bulbs. No I did not touch them with my fingers. I took great care to install them.

After about 5 hours of use over 2 days one of the bulbs started to flicker and went out. Turned the headlights off for 5 seconds and turned them back on and there would be no problem for 5-10 seconds. Then it would flicker and go out again. This happened 3 times on my way home from work. Next day is fine. Next day is fine again.

Should I ask for a warranty replacement since I just purchased these? Or...am i just over worrying?

Thanks in advance.

That's a bit discouraging, especially after hearing so many good things about the Garax bulbs. Where did you get your pair from? Please keep us up to date when you get your replacements. Best of luck.

Switch the bulbs around to see if it does it still and if it does, that means your ballast is bad.

Most likely a ballast problem, just switch bulbs and see. Mine did the same thing when the ballast heated up.

just exchange it for a new one, sometimes there will be a bad egg in the basket.

I have the same problem with my Philips D4S bulbs. Before changing the bulbs, the problem was with the left one. Now, both of them flicker, but the right one keeps turning off. Any ideas to where the problem is?
