Default Swapping out projector lenses? Quest for sharper light cutoff..

So, reading through some threads, gave me some inspiration to tackle this easy (so it seems) and fairly cheap mod. Since purchasing my 3gs, i have never been satisfied with the light output that our factory headlamps offer. I thought about a complete retrofit using different projectors (namely, some tsx(r)'s), but i thought i would tackle this the cheaper way first as from what I know, the lenses are what needs to be changed to benefit any real difference.

I was inspired by member beez43, who started a thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...or-lenses.html

The problem with the thread, is that the link is broken and from what I read there is no disclosure of which lenses he bought, or pictures for that matter..

So, my question is, which lens should I try to swap to? More specifically, which lens would fit? The website that is linked on beez43's thread ,"theretrofitsource.com" seem to carry a 3" lens and a 2.5" lens. I am thinking about going with the 2.5" tsxr lens, but am not sure if it will be a direct swap?...

Please share your thoughts and information...

I feel the same way as you do about the light output. Unsure if the lens swap will do the trick. Surely it may help. I'd really like to do a tsx or s2k projector swap but I'm afraid the s2k won't fit because it's huge.

From what I understand, people have used TSX-R lenses.... Beez43 isn't hard to contact, I believe, he's in Liberty, so contact Mike (Original Garage) from VSC (VipStyleCars) forums and see if he can help you get in contact with Beez.

TSX-R lenses are the best you can get for that sort of thing. If you are unhappy with our cutoff which isn't really that bad on the GS considering the work involved, TSX-R is your best bet as that's the choice of all retro fitters out there.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am ordering some tsxr lenses and will be sure to do a before and after of the cutoff difference (if any). Waiting for it to get a little warmer out before I tackle this!

Stay tuned!
