How often should do alignment?

Default How often should do alignment?

4 of my tires are wearing out on the inner part of the tires. I'm running 18" 245/45/18. I just had my alignment in January/Feb but that time I had 17" OEM with winter tires on. Lexus tech told me to do alignment even though I had it done earlier this year.

Is it because I moved from 17 to 18 or is it something else?

Just making sure before I bring it to the dealer to get it done again.

That's normal, your inner tires wear because you own a Luxury sports vehicle. You need to do tire rotations every 5000 miles. I have the same wear rate also, on the innards. So I change tires front to back every 5000 miles.

Also, you can ask for them to flip left and right too, so you get a little longer life with your tires.

+ 1 on tire rotation.

Alignment is when you have a hard time keeping your car going strait. I think our car also have a bit of self align.

Agreed with what worker said. Out of the 57k mi. I've put on the car, I've had my alignment done ONCE on this vehicle. It has been great to me and the wear rate is decent. The only reason I got the alignment done was because Lexus was replacing all 4 struts, essentially knocking the car out of alignment.

Well, I guess something is wrong with my Luxury sports vehicle, because my tires wear evenly.

You own an AWD model, you don't count . The height and adjustment settings (OEM) for AWD models are different than RWD models.

So you guys think it's the tire balancing issue?

well when I had my alignment it had OEM 17" , I'm not sure if that makes any difference or not, and now its 18". My car is AWD btw.

From what I remember, only the front's are adjustable for alignment, not the rears.

Sorry, I also assumed you weren't AWD . You could try another alignment, what were the tire diameters on your 17s?

Different spec'd overall tire diameter (width included) does change the dynamics of your suspension.

Also, have you been doing your 5000 mile tire rotations? Those are definitely important while owning the car.

the 17 with oem rims were 225/50/17 winter tires and the 18 is 245/45/18.
I drive a lot on the highway with the summers, I havent balanced them since I bought the 18" which was like 2-3 years ago.

The front is eating up more than the rears but all 4 is eating the inner part of the tires. **** man, what to do lol. Balance? alignment? both?

it's not because when I had alignment it had 17" on is it?
