im actually shocked too on how cheap it is. im surprised the panel is as cheap as it is (granted yes the majority of the work will be getting it to fit)

Welcome to the new Obama administration. The illegal have more right than the legal Tax payer.

It is your car's fault however, it's too attractive it draw him in and he can't avoid hitting your car. Also red attract cops too.

Looks like it's split pretty evenly between parts and labor.

Anyone know any good body shops in South Florida?

Not that I want to start a "my car was more damaged than yours" contest, but the initial estimate was actually about $5,200+ (I subtracted my deductible for the post). Since then, the dealership requested an additional $700+. Sadly, the actual tab is much closer to $6,000.

I'm picking it up tomorrow!

Whoah! That was a big impact with a big $$$. Did it turn out ok, after all?

As far as mine, I was holding off on posting my post-pickup until I had a picture or two and I was *really* done, but I might as well start.

Good news:
* Lexus of North Miami Collision Center did a really good job on the repair.

Bad news:
* they caused a couple of small scrapes on the passenger side door.

Slighly bad news:
* they left some of the interior panels a little dirty (they had to remove a lot of the interior)
* they missed a clip an used the wrong clip elsewhere in the trunk so I can't intstall my awesome Lexus cargo net
* the red LED next to the "SOS" button is illuminated now (manual says this indicates a malfunction and I should take my car to a Lexus dealer
* there's some "fabric material" sticking out of the driver's seat between the seat and the center console. I don't remember it being this way before and
the passenger seat is not like this....
* there's a small spot under the rear spoiler where the paint seems dull....almost 'whitish'
(I suspect they polished the car...I see wax residue...and maybe burned through the paint there?)

I let my collision service advisor know about the scrapes and the other little things and she asked
me to take the car back to the week after next as they are shorthanded next week.

I'm a little upset about the scrapes, but the other things seem kinda nitpicky...but seeing as they
are one of the few Lexus 'Certified' Collision Centers in the Southern U.S., perhaps my expectations were too high

Anyway, my car looks great, but I hope Lexus of North Miami can take care of the little things without too much grief.

I'll let you know how that goes.
