Default 2011 gs350

I bought a new 2016 GS350 and gave my 2003 GS 300 to my daughter in Memphis. She was warming it up locked up in her driveway this am in Memphis and someone stole it! She is spoiled for life so shopping around for a replacement and found a loaded 2011 GS350 via Carmax with only 42,000 miles on it for $20,000 ($19,998). It looks immaculate and has sportier wheels and the navigation so pretty much has everything. That price is ok on Bluebook and Edmonds.

My question for the group, are there any watch outs, quirks, known problems, etc, with this model year?

Thanks in advance

Jim

I would jump to a higher mileage 2013 (new body style) if it was me. This way in 3-5 years it will not look so outdated.

gs350 run great just a few brake pads and caliper issues is all

My wife has a 2010 GS350 with 90,000 miles and it's immaculate. Not one issue, not even brakes. Well, with the exception of a battery replacement. That's it.

My dad has an '11 GS350 AWD. Its a great car with very few problems...and since its the last year for that outgoing generation, they fixed lots of the minor quibbles from the first iterations that came out in 2006. The infamous dash rattle is still an issue on the '11 GS350 - most of the 3rd gen GS's suffer from it. Also, I noticed a glare on sunny days from the dashboard and windshield that is annoying. It has the touchscreen nav which in some cases is very good depending on your perspective, although limited in comparison to the 2013+ GS. I personally prefer a touchscreen interface over the mouse/dial/touchpads. If i were getting a 3GS, i'd only be looking at '10 or '11 model years...or a GS460 :-)

The '11 GS you found has extremely low mileage so its a good deal on a rock solid car if it has a clean history
