Default Akebono brake pads

Ok I'm about to change all four pads and went with Akebono proact pads and they include the shims. My question is should i use the oem shims since its four of them or can I just use the outer shim and leave the one that came on the pads if ist even possible or just only use the shims provided with the Akebono brake pads

When I used akebono brake pads, I left the one's it came with. But in that process I lost my OEM shims which are not cheap to acquire after. So i would suggest to leave the OEM shims.

You cant run the aftermarket pads with the oem shims.

Is that the aftermarket pad only come with one shim and oem has 2 for each pad to reduce the chance of noises ... So your saying I should be fine with just that one shim on the Akebono pads ?

I installed my Akebono pads without putting the OEM shims on them and I have had no noises whatsoever. When you install them just make sure to add anti-squeal compound to the back of the pads.

i replaced my rears with those after my oem rear pads fell off the backing. thankfully it was at the body shop at the time or i could of had a real issue.

I upgraded my rotors to Centric premiums since my stock rotors were pretty much gone.

2008 GS350 AWD - Going on either this weekend or next. Just need to find the time. The pin and bushings are for my driver side rear caliper that is seized. Just in case I needed a new one if the old one is in too bad of shape.

I just purchased the same setup with the akebono pads and centric premium rotors for my 06 GS 300 AWD. i did some product reviews on these individually but nothing together... everything i read was positive stuff, once i put mine on this coming tuesday ill advise on what i think.
