I've decided to go with Vossen CV3.

Should I go with
20x9 ET38 & 20x10.5 ET45 with 245/35/20 & 275/30/20 (staggerd)

or

20x9 +38 with 245/30/20 all the way?

I just don't want to mess up my transmission. I called one of website(vossen auth dealer)
and sale rep told me that it is not recommended to put different size wheel on AWD but some of my friend told me that it doesn't really matter.

Please advise or give me some of you guys opinion.

P.S 19 inches wheel is good for comport but 20 looks better right?

 

IMO it'll depend essentially on how often you use your car and if you're on the highway daily. a staggered setup on an AWD certainly isn't suggested but lots of people still do it. same goes for those who run staggered setups on FWD cars.

if you're one of those people who must get 10.5s and think it'll make a big difference then go for it. your gear ratios will alter a bit but you should be fine as long as you establish good rolling diameter tire specs. i haven't seen that many tranny problems with AWD/FWD staggered setups (maybe some other members have). just don't grind the wheels to the peak of it's life and your transmission should last.

 

I am currently running a staggered wheel setup 20x9 front and 20x10 rear and no issues.

It is up to you.. if you like 19's more for price and other reasons go with them.

 

I have an 07 AWD and im currently running 20x9 and 20x10.5 in the back. Like people have said keep the specs close to factory and you should be ok. Ive had mine on since the beginning of March and (knock on wood) no problems other than a slight rub on tight turns in the front. Front offset of 35 and rear offset of 40 for my set-up.

 

I run that setup on awd no issues here and I have lots of high mileage on the staggered setup. Just make sure to purchase tires that are rounded off at the edges so you do not rub. My conti DWS rub, but my old falken fk452 did not. But the Falkens were noiser.

Def get staggered 20's over 19's, GS's look best with 20's unless the car is slammed or 19" oem wheels with flat faces.

Comfort is good, close to stock setup

 

As long as you get the right size tires and keep the rolling diameter as close as possible to the OEM specs, you should be fine. There are plenty of guys running staggered setups on AWD cars without issues. The 10.5"s have a deeper concave than the 9" fronts, so keep that in mind when deciding as well. As for the 19's, you can obviously get a bit more sidewall, thus a more comfortable ride. It all comes down to what YOU want. Either way, they will look good, as the GS fits 19-20" wheels very nicely.

For example, here's an AWD on staggered 20" Vossens (I know not CV3's, but the offsets are the same and will fit like these...)
And one on 19" Vossens, again staggered. The offsets are +32 mm and +38 mm front/rear

Yes, those are the tire sizes we recommend for the 3rd gen GS. The front 245/35/20 tires have 3.47% larger diameter than OEM and the 275/30/20 rears have a 2.47% larger diameter, but if you go with a 285/30/20 on the rears, the size difference is 3.38% larger, which is much closer to the front 245/35/20 specs, which should be okay for the AWD set-up. Now this size is okay for the rolling diameter, but I'm not sure if that tire width will be okay or will rub at all if you plan on going lower. So I'd double check with your tire shop and see if those will fit. I hope that helps!

 

I did the Vossen setup on my AWD since i heard many others on here go with Staggered setup on their AWD GS. I went with 20x 9 +25 225/35/20 front and 20x10.5 +25 245/35/20 according to one of the members on here they recommended me to go with 30 series tires so it would rub less.

The only Vibration issue that i am having on my setup is when im at a complete stop and is in Drive but if i put my car in Neutral i dont feel the vibrations and also neither do feel the vibration when i put it in park. The Vibration increases in the cold weather and you can feel it but it slowly dies down after the car is warmed up and stuff but still has a little vibration in the cold weather.

 

245/35 is too big. if you lower your car, you'll more than likely rub.

 

Mine rubs if only had i known earlier that i should have gone with 30 series then i don't think i would have rubbed as much like even now I'm not rubbing much in the rear but i need new tires for the front cause they are 225/35/20 and they rub constantly when i take a full turn at slow speeds and also minor rub when i go over bumps and dips in the front but otherwise it seems to be fine.

 

Your offsets are also a bit lower than usual . i commonly see 3GS on Vossen run 9"+32 or +38in front and 10.5 +45 in rear.
