Default Rear Bumper Cover Question

Hi,

What are the chances of finding a factory painted, OEM rear bumper cover for a 2008 GS460 (w/ back-up sensors)? Mine was barely touched (literally) by my dad's stupid hummer when parking. The front tow hook must have touched it perfectly, as it put a deep gouge in the plastic.
I want to assure that it is fixed properly, as the car only has 3k on it... It is otherwise brand new and perfect.

I was hoping for suggestions on how/where to possibly find a factory painted bumper cover... Possible?

Thanks an sorry for the stupid question.

Eric

What color is it? Sewell I believe sells painted bumpers.

But your best bet is probably take it to lexus body shop or any well known body shop. If they fixed your bumper you may looks at $200-$400

The color black is super easy to match up. Just take it to a lexus body shop, you wont even know its been repaired.

Yea, 3k on an 08 is crazy!

Take it to a reputable body shop, if money isn't an issue than get a new painted bumper cover.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys... If I cannot put my hands on an OEM factory painted cover, I will likely buy a new one from Sewell and have it shipped to my body shop. The guy is great, and as a last resort, I think I would want it painted OFF the car, so there is no overspray.

It sucks to be so **** retentative - it's an illness.

Thanks again.

it will be painted off the car. they wont try to blend it. honestly, you would be better off just fixing yours. it will be the best for matching the paint and they can blend it in with the existing paint on the bumper.

3k miles on a 5 yr old car - that is amazing. So like is work on one side of your house, favorite restaurant on the other, and GF across the street??

Just have your local Lexus dealer body shop fix it. Has to be cheaper and you won't notice it. A USPS mail truck rear ended my daughter's black '99 GS 300 and they fixed it and you can't tell anything was worked on. BTW, her '99 only has 85,000 miles.

Default Bumper Cover Damage, Photo

Rear Bumper Cover Question-lexus.jpg

Thanks for the suggestions... Attached you will see the damage. Small to most folks, I suppose.

Ha! No, I actually work an hour from my home (45mi) but I travel to and from via government subsidized transportation, so to speak. No money out of pocket, so it's a no brainer.
I also have a 2005 GX470 with 40k and a 2005 Accord 4cyl, so I take the 4cyl when I have to drive in. So, the GS has been more of a pleasure car.

My initial reaction was to "just sell it", after it happened. Backing it into the garage so I can't see it, and search for an NOS/OEM black bumper cover has given me time to settle down!

Thanks for everyone's help .

That's nothing. A good body shop will take care of that so you'll never even know it happened. Just get repaired... no sense replacing entire cover for something so minor.

Good luck
