Haha that's what I was trying to say. You can't tell it's there but it works wonders!

Most of your reflection is due to the windshield being dirty.

I would start off by cleaning it squeaky clean first.

Also I wouldn't use the glossy leather conditioner.

You'll want one that protects and gives a matte finish, as the reflection will cause the windshield to reflect terribly.

Also, the oily stuff that you use like meguire's and etc, when heated, cause the oils to dissipate in the air, catching onto the windshield, causing that reflection.

FWIW though, I use 50% tint on my vehicle. I can see perfectly clear outside. You actually won't even notice it is there to be honest.

Even with a squeaky clean windshield using an alcohol solution does not fix the issue. Even using plain distilled water or nothing on the dash still reflects onto the windshield.

Not Legal (In communist NY anyway)
Section 375 (12-a) of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law does not allow a windshield or front side windows that are dark. The windshield and front side windows cannot block more than 30% of the light. Seventy percent or more of the light from the outside must pass through the window.

Anybody dealt with this with methods other than squinting?
Is there anything besides a matte finished fabric dash cover?

Appreciate the advice.
I have had this (and continue to have this) similar Glare/Reflection on my 2006 GS300 & also the 2008 GS350 (same dashboard design) where the Sun is blinding in a typical Texas Summer. I have used a black mouse pad (8" x 8") and put it on the dashboard in front of my direct view to the windshield. The coverage area is not great but it helped reduce the glare from Sun reflected off of the dashboard. I am planning on using a larger game style pad (12" x 24") to see if this helps more. I think all Lexus 3rd Gen GS models have this problem due to the bland/straight dashboard!!!

I got the exact same Dashmat...the black suede one. My wife has another one of the Dashmat covers for her Honda. They work great, cut the glare, and protect your dash from UV radiation damage.

I think it's mostly the semi-glossy nature of our dashboard. I don't remember any of my cars having a semi-glossy finish. They all have a matte or satin finish. The only other car I did encounter the reflection is in my 2004 Corolla but I threw a bunch of the Mequires NXT extreme dash gloss. Huge mistake. Talk about reflection. It was worse than the GS. So I wiped it off and put a matte gloss.

Default My dash with the Dashmat

This does an excellent job of reducing the reflection/glare and protects the dash too.

That doesn't look bad. Does it help reduce the interior temps?

I have not really noticed a difference in the temperature.
