Keyless remote question

Just wondering why the keyless remote won't unlock the door when I'm beside it, but if I take it out of my pocket and push the button it works? This just started happening.

I just changed the battery and it started working again. I have a spare about 15 feet in the house away from the car in the garage. I didn't know if that created a conflict or not.

please keep me updated also, as I've been having the SAME EXACT problems. Lexus blamed it on my audio system though.... The symptoms not only proceeded but have gotten worse since my warranty ended.
