Mystery Button on the Climate Screen
Part of it may've been from some feedback from customers or something the engineers were already aware of and figuring out how to implement a solution that didn't involve the use of wire over the whole screen like Ford did (still do?) - which may be patented or available to Ford on an exclusive deal.
I'd say the current 4GS is now being looked after by a small team to refine for its mid-life facelift, and the main team involved with it, now beginning to develop the 5GS test mule, with various technologies they aim/hope to bestow it with.
Ya, thats what I down loaded... I wonder when this was installed on the '08's maybe an 08 Hybrid thing.
Ya, I rarely use the climate screen, since most of the buttons you need are duplicated on the bezel. Was poking around the other day while I waited for my son at soccer practice, and it was like "what the heck does that icon mean"... I pull the owners manual... and NOTHING...
So whats next? Ya,,, I press it... to see if the car does some James Bond/Flux Capacitor thing. Nothing... I didn't wait long enough to see that it turns itself off after 15 minutes.
Ya mystery solved... But I wonder, we know that no 07's have this and we can see that all 09's have it... I wonder... anyone else with an 08 with this button?

I have an 07 and it's right there on the screen....lights up yellowish when I click it. I realize that this is an old thread, but there may be another *new* 07 owner out there somewhere. It is indeed a windshield wiper heater. lol gotta love it.
