Default help with nav hack

hey guys,

so i'm having a bit of a problem conceptualizing how to do the nav hack.

so i know i need to cut the purple wire and pink wire and connect them with some kind of a switch.
now do i use the same kind of switch that i need to eventually run out to somewhere outside the nav unit to activate the override?

or are there 2 seperate switches?

if there is anyone in the bay area who has done this before and would be willing to help me out i would be eternally grateful and reward with you with many beverages of your choice, or i'd flat out pay you to help me out.

while we were back there i'd prolly end up doing the vaistech install too so i wouldn't have to remove the dash again.

if anyone out there feels like helping a brother out with the install please let me know asap.

thanks.

ya i may very well end up doing that.
what i REALLY want to do is swap the gen 4 nav for the gen 5 so i can use the ML+ unit and or/wait for the new anderoid kit their coming out from.

does anyone have a recommendation for a really good auto shop that could do that conversion for me?

i would LOVE to upgrade to the gen 5 nav.

why would you want to go through the hassle of doing it? its a lot of work imo for the little benefit that you'll get

both the ML+ kit and the new anderoid kit that vaistech is working on are both only compatible with gen5 nav and up.

i really would like a nicer interface (and if the anderoid unit is as sick as it looks i'll DEF want that).

Sounds like no one's going to stop you from doing this lol. It's android btw, not anderoid. I wouldn't want you to look up some weird stuff while googling up anderoid.
