Dealer replaced mirror under extended warranty. Still vibrates when it is hot. Is fine when it's cool. Tightened the hex screw a tad after reading another post. Will see what happens tomorrow.
Hmm, how bad does it shake? Maybe you can put a piece of paper between the ball joint to give it a little more pressure from moving? (a black piece of paper preferably so it doesn't stand out.
Saw that as a fix on another forum. Honda Civic I believe. Similar issue. Keeping it in mind. It only happens when its hot. After I turn on the AC and the car cools down it stops. Weird...
I'm sure the reason behind that is due to the heat expansion, while it expands, It's actually suppose to make it harder to move the mirror, but I guess in your case it somehow makes the gap larger, making the mirrors twitch more..... Have you considered taking the mirror apart to see if there's anything you could do?

I believe the problem is the windshield. The mirror was replaced and this all started after the windshield was replaced.

There is a thin piece of plastic in the ball joint of the mirror, when its hot it becomes soft and it creates play in that joint. It's like a ball and socket. Once it cools it becomes stiff and regains tension. If the mirror is tight to the mirror button that is attached to the glass, it simply has nothing to do with the glass.
Take your index finger and thumb and with both hands, lightly wiggle the the outer shell. You can see the play in the joint. It mostly happens in the hotter states. The fact that it is happening to the new mirror as well, tells you that the glass tech didn't break the old one.
Maybe try that paper trick or crazy glue, if you are the only driver. Good luck either way. I can see how annoying that can be.
