Default Anyone else rolling with no rear head rests?

I had to take out the headrests from my GS400 when my kids had a full sized car seat. Now that one of them is out of a car seat (six years for me to see my rear seats!), and i have a newer car ('06 GS300), i felt the back looked odd with those headrests. Also, when i sit in the back i feel as though the headrest makes me lean forward to much. I wish the rear seats reclined somewhat.

Nevertheless, i tried to take out the headrests as soon as i could but couldn't do it at first since the ceiling seemed to get in the way. They didn't come off as on the GS4. Finally i got them out today and sat at the back. I can fit my head right in the empty space left by the headrest. When i'm on the driver's seat the back looks deeper than before as well. I'd get rid of the middle one if i could as well.

Am i the only crazy one or has anyone else tried this?

Since i'm here i'd like to ask a second question...

I put on aftermarket 17" on this '06 GS3 AWD. Looking at tire rack, the default, OEM option for tires are 225/50/17. however, for the rims i got the size is 235/45/17. Does that affect the ride at all? I feel that i can see more of the front suspension with these other rims, but don't know if i'm just imagining.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

And will put up pics tomorrow.

That gives me an idea. I may have to try that. Pics would be nice also. Not sure there would be any noticeable difference in the two tire sizes.

Odd.

Do you sit in the back when you drive your car?

God help you if you get hit from behind. The whip lash can leave you in bad shape for a long time. Put them back.....just my 2 cents

I've gotten used to the look of it by now. I'm keeping it like this.

first off like someone said if you get hit from behind a passenger could die from the head whipping back too hard. and the tire size is slighlty lower than your stock original so you will see more gap in the wheel well. the two sizes both keep the car in spec, just dont use different sizes in the front or back, or you will throw off the awd system. and i personally think the headrest are sexy in the car, people actually have a third one put in

you COULD have a tailor shop (for car interiors/leather roofs) custom tailor a headrest for you so that it sits flush.

Definitely looks better with the headrests...not to mention the whole rear end accident thing

I don't see the appeal of removing the headrests.
