Default Heat coming out of AC vents??

I have an '08 GS350. I noticed when I put the heat on, and select the air flow to come out at my feet, there is still some hot air blowing out of the upper vents. Every previous car I have owned, the hot air would only blow down in the floor area on that setting. Is this normal??

Not as much that comes out the bottom vents, but enough to where my face gets very hot. Are we supposed to close the upper vents maybe??? I've never had to do that on other vehicles I've owned.

i have the same thing... i have an 06 gs430 and when i set it to filter through defrost and feet... i can feel air coming through the face vents... if i close them halfway it makes a huge difference but as LenniePaz said i've never had to do this on any other vehicle i've owned

This is "normal" according to Lexus. Even if you have it only going to your feet, air will still go through the centre vents. Even if you have the air turned off, you will feel a bit of air coming through the centre vents. The only way to stop it is to close the vent completely.

Well not to have heat come from middle vents all you do is put it into reculcilating mode. The side vents and every car i ever drove blew air if you had it on feet.
