Default gs350- how does the airvents work?

I never noticed this till now. No matter what setting (direction) I have my airvents, all the front facing vents have air coming from it. If I select the front vents. its much stronger, but every setting I choose will always have air coming from all the front vents. is that normal?

you mean you put the vent controls to feet and you get air up top?? try turning recirc on, what does that do?

if you have vent setting on outside air, it will always have "wind" coming in. set it to recirc.

like EyeKutr mentioned, do you mean when the AC is on or off?

A/C on an recirculating on. I have some cold air always blowing from the vents. not just a little. Enough to feel a slight breez half way to my face. From and of the 5 settings(I think) I choose. Of course the stronger i manually blow the air, the more air comes form those vents. Almost like the vents aren't shutting.

There is always a little air coming out of the outside vents, but the middle vents should be off if put air to the feet.

shoot. more stuff to complain about when I take in my car today. I wonder if they broke the vent when taking apart my center console.

Great, now I look like a a complainer. I took my car in for the button and paint chip today. And I mentioned about the airvent. He said they all (Lexus) cars blows air even if the front air vent isn't selected for a air source, but he said he'll have the techs look at mine. They gave me a 2008 IS250 loaner. Only 400 miles. And it has air blowing out the front vent too even if I select only "foot" area. Whats the reasoning behind this?

Try no A/C with recirc on. That shuts off the vents for me but keeps airflow in the footwell on low.

really? Then this loaner is also busted. With recycled air, on low, on auto at 75deg, the driver-center-passenger air vent will cycle air even when selecting "footwell only". There is a big difference bettwen closing the airvent with the vent close slider and open but air to a different location (footwell). The air is less, I would say about 70% less blowing, but air still comes out.

I may be mistaken but if the auto button is still it, you are not under full manual control. I will check when I leave my office for lunch.

gman- so just to make sure its not me, there is NO difference for you between manually closing the front airvent dials and moving the directional air control to just the feet area? No air from the vents? The 2008 IS250 and my car is the same I can feel air blowing when selecting "feet" and NONE when closing the vent. sorry for repeating myself. I know they gonna say its me because the loaner does the same thing.

Starstreak, Sorry for the confusion, actually I just check mine and its the same as yours. I was thinking my GS was the same as my old GX which does not do that, but I was wrong.
