Default When it's windy outside....

......How does your car handle? I have to really clamp down on the steering wheel when it's windy out to try and control the car. In non-windy conditions it's fine. Is it just me? The only other time I've had a problem like that is when I am driving an SUV. I thought the car was more aerodynamic than that.

Curious to see if others have the same issue.

Yep had the same feeling when I had my 06 GS 300, always felt like it needed counter act a lot of the wind, was a little scary but wasnt sure why it did it. So yes I had this same issue before.

normal, it's a moving object on 4 not so soft but still balloons called wheels. Of course when you are traveling high speed the wind can push it a bit and you have to correct it. The aerodynamic is more for cutting into the wind when you drive forward.

Rule of thumb, when you are scared than slow down. And when you already slow down to a stop and still scared...... like a tornado than start praying to whatever God you believe.

I'm used to driving in windy conditions, I was just really surprised at the handling of my GS, much like what bigblack06 said above, and wanted to know if this was going to be my new 'normal' or if there was something I could do to the car to make it better.

I currently don't have this problem anymore, as my car sits lower to the ground so there is less wind, so I drive faster, i'd say the GS does better than my old camry I had, that thing would way and lift everywhere.

^ Definitely better than Camry.

ncgirl, what wheel do you have? Change that could improve the ride.

I once replace a cheap set of tires for my Camry. Every turn was scary, it was like driving on balloons. I went back and have them change it out right away.

Nope doesn't affect me one bit, but I'm lowered on coils, got swaybars and upgraded to wider wheels. If you're on the 17's they are kind of narrow for a car this big.

I have Michelin Pilot A/S tires. I also got an alignment to make sure everything was okay in that respect.

So, short of doing some mods, it is what it is, eh?
