Default Gloomy Black Friday

I know black Friday is supposed to be a positive but not so much for me. While riding on I-95 I ran over very large rubber from one of those tractor trailer trucks. I tried to dodge it and almost went off the road in the ditch at 80+ mph. I swerved back on the shoulder but hit the rubber and it ripped my front lip right in half. Snatched it right off the car. I was very happy to have survived the incident....that's number 1. Thank God for that.
But when I got home the sadness set in that my front lip was destroyed.

I'm feeling better now. Tomorrow I'll take off the other half that wasn't ripped off and decide whether to replace it or take off the rest of the kit.

Not such a great black Friday....or is it. Material things mean little in the big scheme of the world but we do love our cars. I'm mainly happy I avoided a high speed accident.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your front lip, I didn't take my car out during black friday (thank god). It was very hectic and I'd probaby kill a few people with the way they were throwing trash on top of cars in the parking lot. Luckily my uncle took us black friday shopping and we got over $10k worth of junk this year.

What front lip were you using? If you still have the second half, you can always ship it here and i'll have it repaired for you for cheap.

It's the J-Spec from Extreme Dimensions.
How cheap? A new one is less than $200.
If it's significantly less then I'll consider it.

On the other hand, I was thinking of changing it anyway.

sorry to hear dude.. same thing happened to me before once, i had no choice but drive straight into it.. the size of that tire chunk is no joke, knocked out my front lip and damaged the paint on front bumper. price for having lowered cars, but maybe time for you to get a new lip (something little more aggressive)

Goodness that's cheap! I dont think I can even get a price that low, the repair for my Carson Tuned was like....$200 by itself. With shipping and all you're probably waaaaay over budget! Well, at least you can move onto bigger and better things! Like passnu said, consider that incident a calling for you to get a new lip

I think retreaded tractor trailer tires should be illegal. I also hit some this past year and they took the paint off two of my wheels and one hit by the car in font of me went irborne and came on on my trunk wing and put some deep scratches in it.

It was a little scary for a second or 2 but I visualized the situation and concluded it was better to hit the tire tread than swerve into that ditch.

Hey,

Sorry to hear about your lip and I hope your doing better. I would be more then happy to hook you up with a new lip if you are interested. We now have the JSpec lip in Polyurethane. So no more worries about it breaking. We also have two other styles if you don't wanna go with the same look.

Also, if you have full coverage your insurance company should cover the repairs, minus your deductible.

At 85 mph, I think even polyurethane would have been damaged but it is much more durable. Is the J-Spec in polyurethane or some other style. Your website shows a full facia replacement that's comes in poly, is that what you're talking about? It looks interesting. Kinda makes the GS look more like the IS.

I don't think making an insurance claim is worth the trouble. My deductable is $500. By the time I buy, ship and paint a front lip, it's about the same price.

It's hard to see the other styles on your site. The pics are fuzzy....but I was thinking about something other than the J-Spec. It's nice and flows with the lines of the car but it's kinda soft. I want something a little more aggressive or stylish.

Thanks for checking with me. That's the start of good customer service.
