Back of head rest constantly opening up
Does any one have a problem with the back of their head rest opening and exposing the inside? Every time my girlfriend uses the car and the headrest goes up, it slowly opens the back of the head rest. So I have to keep on pushing it back up and fixing this. How can I make it so it doesn't keep falling?

So you mean it's normal for the headrest to expose the inside of the plastic and the leather? When it does this it looks broken and won't seal up until I push the plastic part back up. If this is normal can you show how your headrest looks like this? The picture I showed doesnt show it open as I just pointed to the area that opens.

K the plastic piece should be stationary, only the leather part move forward and back. If the plastic piece holds on the clips and keep coming out then you need to replace the clips so it wont come out. Last time i remember that piece is rock solid on the seat where unless trying to take it out wont have it come out.

Aren't the headrest some special whiplash protection style, where they have to be reset if activated? There may be another post on this site talking about the resetting of a headrest after it has been activated. Sounds like that may be what is going on with you. Just a hunch.

The headrests are active and they do move back and forward but the back is not supposed to move and there shouldn't be anything exposed. You mind taking a picture when it does move and expose stuff to clarify?

Lol just buy another headrest, Yes that is defiantly not suppose to happen. Check and see if u can find maybe some bad clips that don't hold it in place and have them replaced. Or its not something you will ever take a part put few drops of gorilla glue, maybe even silicone. Replacing the whole headrest is a lot of money I defiantly don't suggest that.

wow, that's the first time i've seen a headrest like that. definitely should not look like that at all. i would recommend and check with your dealer to see if you can get this fixed under warranty (or if out of warranty, get it fixed under good will).

Yeah. This is kinda irritating. The clips that are visible aren't broken. The grey part actually clips over on to the black piece that is hard to see. It would be easy to see whats wrong and fix it if I could get the headrest off of the seat. If anyone knows how to get the headrest off please let me know as my car isn't under warranty any more.
