Default Front End Clicking

How's it going. I searched the forum but didn't find anything specific to my issue so I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.

I have noticed while driving my 06 GS300 that there is a clicking noise coming from the front end. It sounds like its coming from the right front side, or tire area only. It is sporatic, whether I am driving slow speeds, or at freeway speeds 65+ miles, and sometimes I don't hear it at all.

When the noise is heard and I step on the brakes it stops, release the brake pedal and it starts again, and continues like this. There is not shaking, shimmering in the front end. The car stops with no issues, and brakes don't make noise, and steering doesn't wabble.

I was told that there is a TSB for the front brake calipers, but I didn't see anything on this.

Anyone have these issues and figure out what it was?

this sounds like the shims..
just drive it and when you hear the sound, press the brake easly just like you slow down and check if you still hear(click click click) if not.. then this might be the brake pad shims

I had problems with brake pad shims and sounded exactly like your problem.

It's the shims hitting against the brake pad, probably just need to use some pad grease to stop the noise

Thanks for the responses. Its sounds like this may be a easy fix? I will try to tackle this this weekend and see how it goes.

Thanks again.

now I am wondering if it may be more than shims. I may have to take the car to the dealer or a local mechanic I know who specializes in Toyotas/Lexus to have it checked out.

my level of comfort of attempting to do my own repairs on this car is very low.

Thanks again for the input and I'll let you know what it is once I have it checked.

one of your front rotors is touching on the brake shield, the front shield on the GS are so close to the rotors that and slight bent of the shield it will cause the noise at slow speeds or when turning

^ this could be your issue, since the dealer did inspect your brake pads this is also worth checking. This is why I had suggested to check over the techs work and make sure everything was tight and in place.

here is the pic for reference:
