thanks!! i update the ml+ and need a apple component cable. i tried to use rocketfish but didnt work. but happy to say i have so far got everything working except nav and backup camera but dont expect either to be an issues as there direct plug and play unlike the multi-display

Excellent! Thanks for the update. I see on the Info screen, you now have the black background/color palette. I think you mentioned earlier that you did not see this option. What changed or got fixed?

 

To install the ML+, do we actually need the GEN5 screen or GEN5 HU? or both?

Yes need both. The multi display has hd video input and the HU has the mp3 player

 

This is cool as hell but sounds pricey might have to stick with GARMIN,CDs,and DVDS !!!!

 

once i sell my complete nav system to someone without nav. since it can retrofit easily into a no-nav car.

or sell the screen to someone whos screen quit and doesnt want to pay lexus $4k for a new one. ill be into for less then a good cd player.

9/27/11 I Just finished hooking up factory reverse camera and installed nav ecu and harness a few days ago. everything works flawlessly i now have a COMPLETE GENERATION 5 conversion in my car. Even ML+ works flawlessly! well worth the money with a little searching its about the same cost as a good indash nav/dvd player setup! harness cutting and modification was necessary so going back would be quite a task.

 

so afterall the nav ecu matters huh
