Default RPM Question

Hello All...

This is Al and I'm newest member to CL and Lexus family :>). So far I'm enjoying my stay...

I own a 2010 GS350 RWD and I'm located in Central Jersey. I have few mods which i wanna get to (eventually) but for now I'm in some RPM dilemma.

So I'm cruising in power-mode and I brake i see the RPM abnormally drop and raise while i'm still braking and i feel the car is jerking. I have yet to sense this behavior when in regular mode. Though, when reversing in regular mode the car jerks when put it gear at first.

Any ideas or suggestion?

I notice the same thing in my 2008 GS RWD when I am in PWR mode. I noticed the same type of behavior when I test drove a BMW 550 when it was in Sport mode. No explanation except that the PWR mode seems exaggerate the RPM swings.

Normal. That is engine brake and it also give you power when you press on the gas again. It does it in Normal mode too, just a lot less. Power mode is aggressive.

I'm sorry, I didn't follow. Very curious to know what you meant. Can you explain a little more please?
