Default Decisions... decisions..

I've been looking for a 430 since January and can't find a decent one anywhere around w/o it being overpriced.. now I'm thinkin of the 350 even though I want a v8. I know the 350 has 10 more hp but you can't beat a v8 imo. Anyone want to shed a little insight? I wouldn't mind the 350 but I don't want to regret buying one..

Truthfully the GS430 has more options but in terms of the V8 you get 300HP and in the GS350 you get 303HP and thats a V6 so I would go with the GS350 unless you enjoy more toys to play with.

+1. but if the OP wants a V8, he should just up the ante and get the GS460. cost more, but you get more umph!

I didn't have much of a choice honestly, where I come from.. there were only two models available.. the GS300 and the GS460.

Price difference was only $3000.. so it was a no brainer!

Drive both and see if you can tell the difference. If it's just the number that you want then it really doesn't matter.

As much as I would love a 450h/460 .. they're out of my price range. 350/430 are though. I'm thinking maybe I should just hold on to my bimmer for now and get a 4gs in a couple years when I'm ready

As I've stated before IMO the only reasons to get the 430 over the 350 are
1. You prefer the V-8 sound and low end torque
2. The car is a 2007 with the optional active sways
3. The AVS (sport/norm) suspension (which is not exactly super noticeable).

Outside of that the 350 is just as fast, faster with the same big brakes and much better MPG. There is just no getting around the fact the 3.5 is a new engine with DI and the 4.3 is a bore and stroke based off the original 4.0 from 1992. Its tried and true but I prefer the V-6 in the 350.

There is more 350s to buy that 430s but most 430s were loaded compared to 350s (ML/NAV etc).

The V-8 GS to have is the 460.
